"MAKE MORE THAN YOU BUY" Summer Challenge of Handmade Clothing - Part 2

That's what this "Make more than you buy" summer challenge is all about - welcome to PART 2! The second pattern featured in this series is the Recess Play Pants by Matchy Matchy Sewing Club. You can find the pattern here, and you can read more about my experience with the pattern, below.
Pattern Review:
This pattern was a little more advanced than I usually try, although still a beginner friendly option. I wanted a quilted version of the pants, so I pieced scraps into panels based on my sizing, and quilted them to backing fabric (without the batting in between).
Positives:
- The instructions are super easy to follow and diagrams were helpful.
- The pattern includes different options for the waistband and ankle finishes.
- The final fit is really cute and stylish. I can't wait to make another pair!
Negatives:
- Sizing ran a little large. I selected a size based on my measurements and the sizing chart, but they ended up large. Thankfully, I hadn't prewashed my fabric, so after a wash and dry, the pants fit slightly better.
- Added length needed if you are tall (which is not really a negative, just an observation.)
